Drewplus L1320S is a defoamer used to control foam in manufacturing and during the application of water-based paints, avoiding problems with the filling of the product package as well as preventing bobble defects during the application and drying of the film.

Drewplus L-1311S product was very well accepted in the market as it is produced in the region, presented a nice balance of properties in the final paints and improved defoamer stability over local competitor´s materials, based on this success and the new supply chain challenges, raw material availability and all logistics issues that were suffered dur to COVID-19 pandemic, Ashland experts started to think how the emulsified technology could be leveraged to a new material under the same family to overcome all this issues. Targeting a cost-effective material, eliminate use of imported raw materials and improving even further product stability, Ashland created the Drewplus L-1320S.
innovation process:
Specialty Additives team laboratory based on the new Tech Center in São Paulo- Latin America, applied the emulsification technology to attend to the regional demand for this type of defoamer technology aimed at decorative paints. Novelty technology was used to ensure the quality of the product, such as LUMiSizer, and particle size control among others.
Ashland defoamers are well known in the industry and Drewplus product line offers a wide range of technology from mineral or vegetal oil products to silicon-based materials and emulsified defoamers also.
The proper selection of raw material under the right ratio are key elements to develop a stable product. Drewplus L-1320S is the result of a meticulous scientific work associated to Ashland expertise in developing emulsion with state of the art in house techniques developed to support and accelerate product launches.
