Recent changes in the medical dosimetry market created an immediate need for a point-dose dosimetry solution for many medical radiation dosimetry applications. To answer customer’s needs, Ashland is please to launch our NEW Gafchromic in-vivo dosimetry system and gafchromic™ pnt-dos™ device.
Gafchromic in-vivo dosimetry system and gafchromic™ pnt-dos device is a New FDA/CE compliant film-based solution for doing point dosimetry and skin dosimetry measurements providing accurate, reliable, and easy to use dosimeter for many medical dosimetry applications. When used on a patient, or with a phantom, in radiotherapy and diagnostic radiology applications, gafchromic™ in-vivo dosimetry provides verification of the radiation to confirm the primary dose calculation method for quality control.
Gafchromic in-vivo dosimetry system utilizes Ashland’s NEW gafchromic pnt-dos™ device which is irradiated during the procedure or application. Once exposed to irradiation, the device is analyzed using the new Point Dosimetry module in filmQA Pro™ v8. Using the provided accessories, scanner, and procedure that is a part of gafchromic™ in-vivo dosimetry system, dosimetry professionals can quickly analyze the gafchromic pnt-dos™ device and verify the dose was delivered as intended.
Gafchromic™ in-vivo dosimetry has been found to provide consistent dose accuracy for a wide dose range.

- accuracy within +/-1 cGy for low dose range (10-80 cGy) and +/- 5% for high dose ranges (80 cGy to 450 cGy)
- angular dependence max variation of 6.3% consistent with film dosimetry being angular independent
- highly reproducible results with device performance with +/- 2% when tested repeated conditions.
- energy independence with up to 5% deviation for assessed photon and electron energies.
