point dosimetry module within filmQA™ Pro v8 and procedure

How the gafchromic™ in-vivo dosimetry system and filmQA Pro™ v8 work together to analyze gafchromic™ pnt-dos™ devices.

Gafchromic™ in-vivo dosimetry system is a complete solution to provide medical radiation professionals accurate point dosimetry measurements in various radiotherapy and diagnostic radiology applications.  Gafchromic™ in-vivo dosimetry provides verification of the radiation to confirm the primary dose calculation method for quality control.

Gafchromic™ in-vivo dosimetry system brings together features in the gafchromic™ pnt-dos™ device and the new Point dosimetry module of filmQA Pro™ 8 to improve accuracy and simplify the analysis, saving dosimetrists time.

    • Packaging to remove environmental effects: each gafchromic™ pnt-dos device is individually packaged in a UVC-protected bag in order to minimize environmental conditions affecting the gafchromic™ pnt-dos™ device before and after irradiation but before analysis.
    • Less data entry: The 2-D barcode attached to each gafchromic™ pnt-dos™ device enables improved tracking and traceability in your facility. The New Point-Dose module within gafchromic will automatically scan the details from the QR Code while analyzing an irradiated gafchromic™ pnt-dos™ device and add key details from the device into the analysis report saving you time and energy typing them in.
    • Processing Error Reduction: gafchromic™ in-vivo dosimetry system utilizes a custom jig holder that can be placed on the included flatbed scanner which aids users in correctly positioning the gafchromic™ pnt-dos™ devices on the scanner for analysis. This aids in ensuring proper orientation of the gafchromic™ pnt-dos™ device to improve dose accuracy by minimizing artifacts and inconsistency in analyzing the gafchromic™ pnt-dos™ devices on the scanner.
    • Automation features to improve calibration and analysis:  the NEW point-dose module within filmQA Pro™ version 8 includes a NEW auto-calibration feature.  The auto calibration significantly reduces the time delay between testing and analyzing results giving the ability to measure the treatment plan film in as early as 15 minutes.
