Ashland is changing the way paint works with a robust offering of additives resulting from breakthrough technologies. As part of Ashland’s Super Wetting Agent Technology Platform, Easy-Wet™ substrate wetting agents deliver defect-free films in the architectural and industrial coatings markets due to excellent substrate wetting and low foam stabilization. Easy-Wet™ 200, 210, and 300 are fluorine and silicone-free, offering formulators a more sustainable solution.

Our innovation extends beyond wetting agents. We also offer a full range of innovative rheology modifiers, defoamers, and neutralizing agents. 

Natrosol™ FRS1500 and FRS1700 liquid rheology modifiers are preservative-free, novel rheology additives designed to provide manufacturers of water-based architectural paints with optimal flexibility. Utilizing the full potential of this additive technology can significantly reduce processing time, leading to overall energy savings. These additives are made using FSC Controlled wood sources.

Aquaflow™ ECO-300 is a cutting-edge non-ionic synthetic associative thickener (NSAT). This high-shear effective rheology modifier is biocide-free and comes in a solid delivery form, significantly reducing CO₂ emissions and supporting recyclable paper packaging.

Nutrashield™ 200 and pHlex™ 360 pH neutralizing agents are low-odor pH neutralizing and stabilizing additives designed for easy incorporation and long-term pH stability in latex emulsions and water-based paints and coatings. These additives have low VOC content and can replace ammonium hydroxide and other organoamine pH neutralizers, reducing our customers’ VOC in waterborne paints.

The Culminal™ GAP portfolio, produced from Ashland’s innovative methylcellulose chemistry, optimizes water management, making the installation of large format tiles safer.
